Youth Against Drugs! The Youth Against Drugs Step Team was founded in December 1996 to help restore a sense a community pride for the town of Biscoe and surrounding communities. Our initial goals was to build confidence and leadership skills in our youth. Surprisingly, the participation and popularity of the group took off after their first performance at a Martin Luther King Celebration. Invitations to perform came in from everywhere. YAD then started to flex its muscles on and off stage. During a time of adult complacency in Biscoe, the youth group spearheaded its own community upliftment activities. People really started to take notice of this group not only as a 'dance team' but as positive force in the community. These are the humble beginnings of the umbrella organization called Generation Y.E.S. (Youth Excellence Services). YAD wanted to dispel the myth that today's kids are only interested in BET videos, Playstations, and the 'bling bling'. Generation X?? No way. Generation YES! |

Basketball Court Renovations Generation Y.E.S. has spearheaded a new Fundraiser Campaign. Our Goal: $5000 A visit to our community center will more than demonstrate the need for this fundraiser. Our community center is in dire need of some major renovations. The BASKETBALL COURT is delapidated and at this time is non-playable. It's hard to imagine that this is the same court that we practically grew up on during the 70's and 80's. We certainly need to give back to the next generation and provide an alternative to them versus hanging out in the streets! Additionally, the community center needs major repair inside. Heating and Air Conditioner units have long been needed as well as major insulation work. Some of the rooms still need to be drywalled and painted. The costs of these renovations are pretty steep and we need all the help we can get! |

Generation Y.E.S. and its 501(c)(3) Status Generation Y.E.S. obtainted its 501(c)(3) status in 2000. This was a significant milestone as it legitimized our organization into a "Nonprofit Corporation". We are now classified as a foundation that allows individuals and businesses and organizations to donate gifts, money, or land to a district with 501(c)3 status and receive a tax benefit.
